FILLER AREAS

Tear Trough: Tear trough is the hollow area under the eye. This is a very delicate area. I have been treating tear troughs for the past 15 years. Great care should be used as this area is very near the eye and an injection into the eye would be disasterous. Thus detailed knowledge of the anatomy is vital. The tear trough can be treated with hyaluronic acid. The placement technique is delicate and also the appropriate product must be used. The wrong product or the wrong technique would result in an undesirable appearance. The under eye area can also be treated with skin boosters, medical microneedling, botulinum, peels and lasers. Often a combination of treatments works best.

Forehead:  The forehead along with the nose are the most delicate areas to treat with fillers or skin boosters due to the risk of vascular occlusion. However, with the correct knowledge and experience such treatments can be performed safely. Aging of the forehead troubles alot of people and treatment of this area can be very satisfying.

Cheeks:  As we age the deep fat pads of the cheek atrophy leading to an aged gaunt look and the descent of tissues leading to drooping and jawline of the face. The subtle and carefully placement of high quality volumisers such as restylane, beletero, radiesse or sculptra into the cheek fat pads results in an improvement of the contour giving a lifted rejuvenated effect.

Chin: Ageing of the chin area is an often neglected problem. Careful treatment of the chin with combinations of products such as hyaluronic acid, radiesse, botox and laser allow a rejuvenated defined chin which also helps to improve the appearance of the neck.

Temples: Hollowing of the temples develops slowly and is an underrecognised feature of facial aging. This hollowing also contributes to drooping of the lateral eyebrow and the lateral face. I think drooping of the lateral eyebrow is a major feature of the aged face. However, the temple is a minefield anatomically when you consider the important blood vessels and nerves that traverse this area. I have studied this area for many years and have developed my signature technique for rejuvenation of the temple which is safe and effective.

Lips: Lip rejuvenation is best done in a subtle fashion with the use of high quality hyaluronic acid products. Good technique is also essential. Technique and product can be customised to give more or less projection.
Too many times I have seen poor technique and cheap products resulting in bad or dangerous results. It can be very difficult to dissolve/remove cheap products. If you do need filler removed from your lips, contact us as we do offer this service. However, be aware that it can take several sessions to dissolve cheap products. In fact some products can’t be removed. It is very important that you make sure you are getting high quality hyaluronic products placed in your lips.

Jawline: A defined jawline is desirable.  An ill- defined results from a number of factors including being overweight,  retrograde chin, facial volume loss, jowl formation, poor skin  tone and overactivity of the platysma and depression anguli oris muscles.
A combination approach is required with the use of botox, high G prime fillers, radiesse, lipolysis and J stitch thread lift.

Lateral face: The lateral face needs to be addressed in order to avoid making the central face appear overdone. Patients and injectors often often only want to treat the central  face. However, this gives an unnatural result. Atrophy and descent of the lateral areas are major contributors to facial aging. Re-volumisation of this area with high G prime volumisers, skinboosters and threads allows a natural lift of the face.

Marionette Lines: Are the downturned lines below the corner of the mouth. These lines can be very effectively treated with hyaluronic acid especially if the right product and technique are used. This can be complemented by the use of botox and threads.

Hands: Profhilo is a good technique for hand rejuvenation

Smoker’s lines: These lines above the upper lip occur mostly in females and  very often the person has never smoked. The lines can be treated with botox, filler, skin boosters, chemical peels, microneedling, laser or radiofrequency microneedling.
