People are frequently concerned about their moles. Mole is not a medical term but it is generally taken to mean a pigmented skin lesion. Such lesions may be benign melanonaevi or benign seborrheic keratoses but such a lesion may also be a malignant melanoma.
If you have a lesion which is new or changing it is vital to get it checked out. Too often people leave new skin lesions too long and this can have catastrophic consequences. Early diagnosis most often means that the patient will only require relatively minor skin surgery.
Why leave a lesion undiagnosed? If you see any new or changing lesion or if you are in any way concerned about a lesion don’t hesitate in getting it checked.
